About Us

Impact Evidence (IE) was created by researchers at Brigham Young University (BYU) to make high-quality academic research in development more accessible to policymakers, civil society actors, students, and any interested individuals. IE is a comprehensive database of over 400 policy impact evaluations from six respected research organizations:

• Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts
• Center for Effective Global Action (CEGA), University of California, Berkeley
• Development Impact Evaluation (DIME), World Bank
• Evidence in Governance and Politics (EGAP), Berkeley, California
• Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), New Haven, Connecticut
• International Initiative for Impact Evaluation (3ie), Washington, D.C.

IE was founded by Darren Hawkins, professor of political science; Daniel Nielson, professor of political science; and Ty Turley, assistant professor of public management.
